Kage FAQ
Questions people ask before adding a Twitter follow tracker to their Discord server.
What is Kage?
Kage is a Discord bot that watches the following list of X (Twitter) accounts you choose. When one of them follows a new account, Kage posts an alert in your Discord server or your DMs. It runs on slash commands, so there is nothing to install beyond adding the bot.
How does Kage detect new follows?
Kage scans the following list of every monitored account on a 60-second interval. Any account that was not in the previous scan is treated as a new follow and sent to your channel or DM as a rich embed with the followed user's profile info, stats, bio and verification status. See the docs for a walkthrough.
Does Kage work with X, or only Twitter?
Both names refer to the same platform. Kage monitors accounts on X, the service formerly called Twitter, and the commands take a plain username such as /monitor elonmusk.
What commands does Kage have?
The core commands are /monitor to start tracking an account, /unmonitor to stop, /list to show every monitored account in the server or DM, /refresh to trigger a manual scan, /botinfo for bot details and /ping to check latency. Type / in Discord to see them all with descriptions.
Does it support DM notifications?
Yes. Kage can send follow alerts directly to your DMs as well as to server channels. You choose the destination when you set up a monitor, and each tier has separate DM and per-server monitor limits.
What happens if someone unfollows and refollows?
Kage uses additive tracking to prevent refollow spam. Once a follow has been recorded it will not trigger a duplicate alert, even if the account unfollows and follows again later.
Is there a free tier?
Yes. The Free tier costs $0 and includes 1 DM monitor, 50 monitors per server, the same 60-second refresh as paid tiers, and basic support. No credit card is needed. See pricing for the paid tiers.
How many accounts can I monitor?
It depends on your tier. Free gets 1 DM monitor and 50 monitors per server. Premium ($10/mo) gets 10 DM monitors and 200 per server. Ultimate ($20/mo) gets 50 DM monitors and 500 per server.
Can Kage post alerts to a webhook?
Webhook support is included in the Premium and Ultimate tiers. The Free tier delivers alerts through the bot to channels and DMs only.
Can I use Kage in more than one server?
Yes. Kage works across all your servers, and each server has its own independent monitor limits and configuration.
How fast is the refresh interval?
All tiers get a 60-second refresh interval. Kage uses smart pagination to scan large following lists page by page, so accounts that follow thousands of people are handled without hitting rate limits.
What if the account does not exist?
Kage validates the username before it sets up a monitor. If the account does not exist you get an error message right away instead of a silent failure.
How do I upgrade my tier?
Kage shows the available tiers and your current usage through its slash commands. To move to Premium or Ultimate, contact the bot owner.
Ready to try Kage?
Add Kage to your server, run /monitor on any X account, and get the next follow as a Discord alert. Read the docs first if you want to see every command.
